Spyware is very annoying for alot of people. Sometimes we even didn’t realized that spyware has “infected” our computer. Spyware is very different from viruses or worms. However, like many recent viruses, spyware exploits infected computers for commercial purposes. Typical tactics furthering this goal include delivery of unsolicited pop-up advertisements which is very annoying, theft of personal information, monitors our web-browsing activity for marketing purposes.

So what can we do to prevent our computer from spyware? Well, first of all stop visiting unknown warez & porn site, from my expirience a lot of computers got infected by spyware when visiting a warez of porn website. But this doesn’t mean that all warez & porn site spread spyware.

The second step that you want to take is maybe installing an anty spyware software. There’s a lot of anty spyware system out there, freeware and shareware. You could try download one of them in download.com if you like.

Programs such as Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware SE and Spybot - Search & Destroy has gained popularity as effective tools to remove spyware programs. More recently Microsoft acquired the GIANT AntiSpyware software, rebadging it as Windows AntiSpyware beta and releasing it as a free download for Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 users. In 2006, Microsoft renamed the beta software to Windows Defender.

Other well-known anti-spyware products include Webroot Spy Sweeper, PC Tools’ Spyware Doctor, ParetoLogic’s XoftSpy, and Sunbelt’s CounterSpy.
